Image ID:
2341
Date:
03/06/2013
Location:
Szentendre Island,
Budapest,
Hungary
Description:

Unlike a lot of it's congeners, this Protaetia species is not dependent on dead wood and cavities in old trees: it's larvae devolop in the soil and feed on the roots of grasses. The larvae of many other Protaetia and Cetonia, develop in the decaying wood of tree cavities.
