Description:
Juvenile bird.
Great Reed Warbler populations are drastically declining in Western Europe, mainly due to the loss of habitat. In Southern Europe it is still a locally common species and it can often survive on quite small areas of suitable habitat, mainly because of the higher densities of large insects on which the birds feed.
