Description:
During summer Salt Lake holds amazing concentrations of Phalaropes. In the second half of July hundreds of thousands of Red-Necked Phalaropes are feeding on the billions of Brine flies (Ephydridae) and their larvae on the lake. In august more than one million of Wilson's Phalarope will be participating in the Brine fly and shrimp feast!
The tiny black and grey spots on the fore- and background are all Brine-flies floating on the water.
