Marbled Frogmouth -
Gemarmerde Uilnachtzwaluw
-
Podargus ocellatus

Image ID:
6521
Date:
03/06/2011
Location:
Batanta,
Rajah Ampat,
West Papua,
Indonesia
Description:

There is a taxonomical discussion going on about this species. Recent research seems to lead to a split of Marbled Frogmouth into two species: the 'Papuan birds' which occur on Papua and the Solomon Islands will probably be considered as a different species of the 'australian Marbled Frogmouth'.
